Following the 2005 licencing round, which closed on 19th July 2005, the Government of Guatemala has indicated that further licencing rounds will occur but no date has been set.
In Colombia the National Hydrocarbons Agency (ANH) became operational at the end of 2003. This administrative unit of the Ministry of Mines and Energy took over the role of licence administration from Ecopetrol, the Colombian state oil company. At present E&P licences can be applied for at any time by submitting a proposal to the ANH. However, there are some areas of the country where the government has been conducting special studies and it is expected that these areas will be subject to a competitive bid round in the future. |
